Church of the Mount of Beatitudes, Sea Of Galilee

The Church of the Mount of Beatitudes is a catholic church that is run by the Franciscan order that is considered to be the largest order amongst the catholic stream. The church is located on the Mount of Beatitudes that is lifted 125 meters above the Sea of Galilee (Lake Kinneret) level and where there is a beautiful observation point on the area.

This mountain is also known by names such as mount Nahum or the mountain of the Biatiadim (the mountain of the blessed in Latin). according to Christian tradition on this mountain Jesus gave the "mountain sermon" where his teachings that included his main theories. In the Mount of Beatitudes Jesus chose 12 of his students also known in the New Testament as the 12 messengers. 

The Mount of Beatitudes church was built out of volcanic stone an inaugurated in the year 1938 according to the renowned Italian architect Antonio Berluchi which built many churches all over Israel.
