Jerusalem is the Israeli state capital and is the biggest city in Israel. Jerusalem is a holy city to all three religions; Judaism, Christianity and Islam and this is due to its 5000 year history of stories and legacies. Jerusalem's main history revolved around the old city, the same preserved site dating thousands of years back, documents the life it used to be. In the city, you will find four quarters: Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Armenian.
Tour Route
We’ll start our tour with a panoramic overview atop Mount Olives, overlooking Jerusalem offering a fantastic view of both modern and Old Jerusalem including the Temple Mount Esplanade. We continue towards Herodion, a volcano-looking hill where on its top King Herod built his royal palace and fortress and his proposed site of burial. Inside the structures we will walk along many halls, bathhouses and courtyards overlooking the Judean desert providing a breathtaking view.
We continue our tour making way to the Hulda gates, the ancient entrance to the Temple where its visitors are greeted with the impressive sight of the two thousand years old steps leading to the Temple Mount. We then ascend the Temple Mount (also known as Mount Moriah) and visit the Temple courtyard, built by King Herod on top of the ruins of the first Temple built by King Solomon.
The tour ends with walking through the Western Wall tunnels. This is dependent on the availability of space as advance booking is required. Therefore, We recommend to book this tour seven days before the tour date. If there is no availability, visit the breathtaking structures of David's Citadel, which built by King Herod for defense of the northern part of the city.
