Haifa Beaches
The city of Haifa is marvelously situated on the Carmel mountain range surrounding Israel’s only Bay. This creates a scenic view of the sea from almost every point of the mountain and tremendous bathing and surfing beaches. The main beaches are divided into two main areas, before the bay area and past it. Along the beach front is a long and lively promenade filled with traditional restaurants and bars filled with the sea’s relaxing atmosphere.

This promenade spreads along the ocean at Bat Galims peaceful neighborhood. Restaurants, coffee shops and dive shops are abundant here and even the cable car's lower station.

Haifa Municipality, with funding from the Hecht Foundation, established a recreational park named after the late Dr. Reuben Hecht, recipient of the Israel Prize for Exemplary Lifetime Service to the Society and State in 1984.

This is the most southern beach in Haifa. It boarders with Atlit army base. Although ironically students aren’t abundant here, extreme enthusiasts are. Jet skis, windsurfers and kite surfers are.
